TALLAHASSEE, FL – Governor Ron DeSantis today requested that the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) to take over the investigation related to Jeffrey Epstein. This is regards to the letter sent from the Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw.
Governor DeSantis also issued Executive order number 19-183 transferring the “investigation, prosecution and all matter related to allegations related to Jeffrey Epstein and his assigned work release program and other irregularities” from the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit of Florida to the Nineteenth Judicial Court. State Attorney Bruce H. Colton at the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit will take the case from David Aronberg. (read order here)
The Executive order directs the state’s attorney, Bruce H. Colton to look at the following: the criminal investigation into Jeffrey Epstein, a preliminary inquiry surrounding his work release; and other irregularities related to the prior state investigation and Epstein’s plea agreement.
