He’ll Turn It Around – It’s What He Does
Who else is enjoying yet another perfectly timed event planned well in advance by the campaign for the reelection of President Donald J Trump?
In case you hadn’t noticed, it’s only been a couple of weeks since mainstream news was full of the negative comments from several leaders in the American Christian community. I almost disavowed the term evangelical about a week or so ago. Pretty glad now I didn’t do that publicly. Some will probably try to say what followed is typical political opportunism and pandering. Others will claim it’s just one more signature move which highlights the Trump campaign’s efficiency. I personally think the timing was a God thing.
This faith initiative is aptly titled “Evangelicals for Trump.” Every minister who is involved that I have followed up with relays the same message. After several phone conversations with the Trump administration, they were fully convinced that President Trump himself had requested their involvement in joining yet another newly formed ecumenical group of about 30 faith leaders from across the country. Of course, every president generally makes appearances before religious groups in order to listen to their concerns. But not often is such interest and concern one of any campaign’s larger priorities; it certainly wasn’t in the last administration.
One of the new ministers in this year’s iteration of faith leaders is Pastor Jack Hibbs of Calvary Chapel in Chino Hills, California. Click the two video links below to see the latest updates on his popular YouTube Channel, Real Life with Jack Hibbs.
No doubt the president’s longtime pastor and friend, Paula White-Cain, who recently joined the Trump administration in the Office of Public Liaison, has a large role in the formation of many faith-based initiatives. I’m anticipating even more timely boomerang-type events which will reveal the heart of God towards our divinely inspired “wrecking-ball” to the spirit of political correctness (not to mention some Christian leaders who seem to pride-soaked in pickle juice). That last parenthetical phrase is the only part of the commentary which this writer will admit is opinion, because I do not factually know what motivates the hearts of some who call themselves ministers of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Let it be noted here that rarely if ever in the recent past would you see a “Word of Faith” movement minister, or a “Pentecostal” minister publicly attack or speak in any negative manner towards another ministry, be it one that is similar in its practices or one that is extremely different. There is much to be said for those who hold others of like precious faith in high esteem. With that said, the climate in the church world of America is undergoing tremendous change in this season of exposure, which is bringing an intense scrutiny and accountability that undoubtedly has been lacking for decades. It is a welcome change. However, to those who have a platform to publicize the weaknesses, frailties, and yes even the outright deceit or evil to be exposed eventually in several churches: let them be of the mindset to continually seek the heart of God on every issue that is made public. What breaks the heart of God should certainly produce sorrow among us regarding ourselves Christ-followers. And let all be done with an eye towards eventual restoration.
After all, who was it that wrote most of the book of Psalms, the books of Peter, and most of the New Testament? Were they not imperfect men? Is it not the Apostle Paul who deemed himself, “the chief of sinners?” Even the fathers of our faith were deeply flawed men, yet God saw fit to inspire these same men to write large portions of His book. Let restoration, reconciliation and redemption be the peoples’ three Rs in these turbulent days to come. Not only does God resist the proud, He gives grace to the humble. Patriots, investigators, alternative news media, and citizen journalists, please heed this promise: Therefore, humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time … Before, during and after the corrections that are sure to come, let these things be done in a spirit of Love.
1 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!
2 It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments;
3 As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the Lord commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.
A Destiny For You
See how I move in your life
Watch as I turn evil to good for you
See how I move in your life
I have a plan, I have a destiny for you …
I have a plan, I have a hope, I have a destiny … a destiny for you …
